The U.S. and Canada jointly recall China-made inflatable water polo toys

by:Toysmax     2021-05-08
The inflatable toy recalled this time is the size of a marble when it does not absorb water. After absorbing water, it can expand to 400 times its original size. There are 4 models, namely Water Balz (round, product model BC-0338, and the recalled quantity is about 81000 sets), Growing Skulls (skull pattern, product model is BC-0320, recalled quantity is about 11,850 sets), H2O Orbs 'Despicable Me' (round, product model is DM-0447, recalled quantity is about 1800 sets), Fabulous Flowers (flower shape, product model number is BC-0440, recall quantity is about 36 sets). There are 6 toys per set, divided into four colors of yellow, red, blue and black. 'DunecraftWater Balz and Growing Skulls were sold nationwide from September 2010 to November 2012 at a unit price of approximately US$3 per set; H2O Orbs 'Despicable Me' was exclusively sold at Universal Studios in the United States in June 2012 at a unit price of approximately US$3/set; Fabulous Flowers has been exclusively sold at Milaeger's in Racine, Wisconsin, USA from June to November 2012. The unit price is about US$3/set. The number of goods recalled this time is about 95,300 sets (including about 94700 sets in the United States and about 600 sets in Canada). The reason for the recall is that if a child accidentally swallows a marble-sized toy, the toy will expand with water in the body and cause a blockage in the intestines, causing serious discomfort, vomiting, dehydration and even life-threatening children. If the inflatable ball is swallowed by mistake, X-ray photography is not required, and immediate surgical removal is required. Up to now, Dunecraft Inc. has received an accident report in which an 8-month-old baby girl accidentally swallowed an expanding water balloon and caused intestinal obstruction, which was then removed by surgery. Health Canada has not received any reports of accidents. For this reason, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada advise consumers to immediately keep the recalled inflatable water balloons away from children, and contact Dunecraft Inc. to replace other toys for free.
