Domestic building block toys are warned by EU consumers
On May 20, 2016, the European Commission’s Rapid Non-Food Early Warning System (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning for Chinese-made 'Classic world' brand wooden puzzle toys (Warning Number: A12/0612/16). The reporting country of this case is Estonia. The notified product is a wooden toy puzzle block with holes. Each square contains a small part (bell, wooden tube, marble, and spinning ball) that is blocked by a small stick and cannot fall out. Different pictures are printed on each side of the square
( Cows, chickens, ladybugs and the sun). The product is packaged in cardboard. The notified product style/model is 3522, and the barcode is 6940351735227. The OECD Portal Category code of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is 86000000-Toys / Games.
The small parts (bells, wooden barrels, marbles and spinning balls) contained in the above puzzle blocks can be easily obtained by children. If a child eats it by mistake, it may cause choking. This product does not meet the requirements of the 'EU Toy Safety Directive' and the relevant EU standard EN 71-1.
At present, importers have taken measures to recall the above products from consumers.
